Our Commitment to Sustainability
Sustainability is fundamental to our design philosophy and business practice. Conisbee is committed to achieving Net Zero operational carbon by 2025, and we are embedding this ambition into every aspect of our work. Our approach is both strategic and practical—prioritising low-embodied carbon materials, promoting the reuse of existing structures, and applying passive design principles wherever possible. We actively support the use of modern methods of construction (MMC) and offsite fabrication to reduce waste, improve build quality, and lower carbon impacts. Our engineers work closely with clients, architects, and contractors to deliver integrated, future-ready solutions that balance performance, resilience, and environmental responsibility. We also continue to collaborate with partners across the industry through initiatives like the Islington Sustainability Partnership, sharing knowledge and driving positive change across the built environment.

Refurbishment of 1960's 4 storey RC frame structure for City University. The refurbishment provided updated IT facilities, facade alterations, inew mezzanine structures, openings through existing slabs and external canopies. Detailed analysis of the existing structure was required to ascertain options and minimise any strengthening and additional structure.
